Class Description
Required Supplies

(1) Gel Plate (AT LEAST: 5x7, 6x6” or larger) in preferred shape : circle, square, or rectangle. (*Demos will be on a 6 x 6 inch circle or 8 x 11 inch rectangle plate)

Other preferred acrylic colors (do not need to be slow drying)

(1) Soft rubber brayers (3 inch & larger)

(1) 4 oz PVA adhesive

Leaves or flowers to use in prints

Apron

Brushes in a variety of shapes and sizes

Stencils

Cardstock in light neutral colors

1 pack of baby wipes or a roll of paper towels to clean your plate

Plastic palette knife

Palette paper or palette

Images to reference (printed or on phone of landscapes and other preferred subject matter)

Printmaking paper like Reeves, BFK, or Arches

Hair dryer to help speed up drying

*Students should plan to transport wet work at the end of this class
Yari Mena is a mixed-media Mexican-American artist living in Gwinnett. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Georgia State University. Yari has taught art classes for teens at the Clarkston Community Center and created a survivor-centered healing arts curriculum for a local women and children's shelter in 2022. Recently, Yari was a Distinguished Fellow at the Hambidge Center for Creative Arts and Sciences and a Guest Faculty at Anderson Ranch Arts Center.
