Rigid enough for quick, gestural paint sketches, yet economical enough to use in the classroom for warm-ups and compositional planning, Crescent Canvas Boards have a white, linen-like canvas surface that is hard-sized to accept a variety of media, including acrylic paints, oil paints (the panel must be primed with gesso first), and even light collage.
These professional-grade boards have a solid, cream-colored , 100% wood cellulose core that has been upgraded from a recycled newsboard core to provide a much finer and smoother surface. Buffered to an alkaline pH, Crescent Canvas Boards are acid-free , lignin-free , and warp-resistant .
The medium-weight boards provide a sturdy, durable substrate, and the heavyweight boards are triple-thick to provide extra strength for rigorous painting techniques.
