Binders Acrylic Workshop - November
Workshop Title: Layers of Light: Exploring Transparent Acrylic Color
Workshop Description: Transparency is one of acrylic paint’s most expressive qualities, allowing color, light, and underlying layers to interact in surprising ways. In this virtual workshop, artist and educator Jeff Olson explores how transparent acrylic colors can be used to create luminous surfaces, optical mixtures, and a remarkable sense of depth.
Featuring Amsterdam Standard Acrylics, Jeff will demonstrate why some colors conceal while others reveal, and how pigment properties and paint formulation influence transparency and opacity. You’ll explore glazing, layering, and color stacking while discovering the difference between physically mixing colors on the palette and allowing them to interact optically on the painting surface.
Part art, part science, and plenty of creative experimentation, this workshop will give you practical techniques for making acrylic color glow from within. Designed for artists of all experience levels.
